I have no clue how pricing is regulated or what. I check out a particular dealer for say an STI edge and he wants $2200.00 for it. I check out another fellow and his is selling for $1900.00. I don't know about you guy's but $300.00 is quite a difference! What gives????????? Help. Are they both from factory and how can a guy sell for that much less.

Pricing isnt regulated, a store can sell a firearm for whatever the market will pay for it. Some people shop for the lowest price, others shop from a dealer based on the dealers reputation, their customer service and other intangibles and dont object to paying more to help keep their favorite store in business. Some people value service over price.

Is it ok to be dealer specific concerning prices?
I'm looking on the sti website and the prices are similar to the canadian dealer.??? Why would a canadian site list US prices?? Strange.

What are you talking about? This entire thread makes no sense...

Freedom Ventures is the Canadian Distributer...they list their prices in Can $

STI is an American company...they list their prices in US dollars...

Exactly where is the confusion?

Yes, It is OK to be dealer specific...in this case, anyway.

If you're looking at MY site, SRP is located here: http://www.freedomventures.ca/sti2011.htm
If you click on the specific Edge, you will get a picture and specs from STI's site - http://www.stiguns.com/guns/Edge/Edge.html which DOES have US SRP listed. Is that where you are getting that $1900?

I do have a note at the top of http://www.freedomventures.ca/sti2011.htm that says "(Click on any line to see the gun - note MSRPs on popups are US$)" on the top of the page.

Was looking at SGFX. Do their prices reflect CND dollars? I guess so but why the *#^% would a canadian business list in US currency is beyond me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a cut and paste from the firearms section of SGFX for the price of an STI EDGE. To me it looks like it clearly says USD.

: which part of U S D dont you understand?   :D :D :D

Price: Edge $1,874.00 USD. Plus shiping.
California Edge $1,984.00 USD. Plus shiping.

Well, when you look quickly and know your on a canadian site you kinda think your looking at CND dollars. Have you ever thought along those lines. When you look at p&d listings or wolverine does the first thing you say is, oh ya but thats in us dollars!

It says right on their website;

Price: Edge $1,874.00 USD. Plus shiping.

They would most likely quote USD as they are purchasing from the US. With the flucuations in the US dollar to the Cdn dollar it is easier to quote what the price is in US funds. ;)
