want a rimfire for cheap indoor practice while the .223 stocks build up! don't want cmmg style conversion so i think the final contenders are

1 chiappa upper-approx $400..quality?

2 s&w 15-22-approx $500..prohib mag issue impending, but all ar fire controls

3 issc mk 22-approx $600....no frt as yet, wait time is.......

if i've missed any contenders fire away! advice/experiences welcome

Mike, you're the man! i was going to buy the SR-22, i went with the CMMG conversion for my AR. That way i can practice on the platform all the time. It sure is nice to just fire off a couple hundred rounds without any worries.
 
If you have an AR build going (guessing by your wording), why not just spend the cash on a decent dedicated rimfire rifle that you can mod later also...

Ruger SR22 or even 10/22 comes to mind... Cheap and lots of Tacticool...
 
I bought one of the M&P22's...
Accurate, reliable....same feel and controls as my AR's.
Bit of a pisser with the mag issue, but ordered some 10 rounders, so I'm 'legal' once again
I've also just picked up one of the SR-22's...
I'm going to do a 'back to back' with both units tomorrow at the range.
(I've also just ordered a Dlask replacement barrel and top rail...now not so cheap,but it should be a decent shooter...and non-restricted.)
 
Also have the S&W 15-22 with no problems.
Questar has the legal 50 shot drums and the 10 shot mags with super fast service and shipping.
