What to buy?

I am thinking of buying either a Franchi Affinity 3 Sporting or a Beretta A400 Xplore Action. I know there are significant differences between the two (especially cost) but I just can't make up my mind. All I want it for is to shoot clays, non-competitively and just for fun. I have to admit the A-400 feels better (but a lighter gun), just not sure if its worth the extra money. I don't want to go to an o/u because I am starting to wimp out on recoil (plus I already have one)!

I have both an A400 Xplore in 12 ga and a Franchi Affinity in 20 ga. I shoot both equally well or as poorly as the other. I did manage a 23, 25 and 23 on the skeet field yesterday with the Franchi. For fit and finish the A400 is the nicer looking gun. If buying new or used the A400 should come with a plastic take down case with chokes, choke wrench, shims and other bits and pieces. The Franchi comes in a cardboard box with chokes, choke wrench shims etc.

For shooting clays the A-400 will have less felt recoil due to the gas operating system, something to consider. In the world of competition clays games you will see no inertia operating shotguns and the People who choose to use a semi auto almost all choose Berettas. Something to consider. I also own a Franchi Affinity in 20ga that I use for hunting, excellent gun that would work for occasional informal clays games.

I have an Affinity and an A400.Both are great and I like them both.
Affinity is ALOT of gun for the money and has some major pluses…even easier cleaning, great warranty( if you need it). Proven action (based on Benelli M2 and interchanges many parts with it).Made in same Benelli factory as M2,to the same standards, recoil spring inside forend.
That being said the Blink gas system on the Beretta is very fast, easy to clean, and also has spring in forend- so no issues with butt stock springs.
