What to choose: smith & wesson MP or GLOCK 17 gen4

Well I went over to rouge river arms today and made my decision and went with the m&p 9.. After groping both guns for a bit I found the glock agrivated my wrist (have some pre existing injury) and generally didn't like the angle .. So I bought the m&p can't wait for the transfer ..

Good luck with your decision OP you'll walk out with a smile on your face no matter what.

When feeling them both in your hand, you can't beat the ergonomics of the M&P. Congrats on the M&P.

Because as long as you don't mention the HK VP70, the Glock was the first striker fired safe action pistol with a polymer frame.

So you said it yourself...the Glock wasn't the first one. The letter B comes first, as long as you don't count A!!!

I have a gen 4 glock 17 and love it. I had a m&p45 and while the ergo's were better the trigger IMO felt like absolute crap. I suggest trying both and find the one that suits you best.

To bad you didn't replace the USB with the Apex version. The trigger would have been night and day different.

I see the M&P will now be built with a barrel with a 1 - 10 twist instead of the dumb 1 - 18 twist they were using. Should improve their accuracy with 124/147 gr bullets.

Take Care

Bob

Have you considered Steyr? My M9A1 is the most ergonomic pistol I own - it's a medium frame and I have smaller hands so it's fits awesome. I'd say it is a simpler version and just as reliable as a Glock. You completely strip the Steyr without any tools including the trigger group! You might not like the sights though....

was wondering the same about the m and p 9....notice the rather thick built of it....even with the 3 adjustable backstraps....I wonder if smaller hands or shorter fingers are okay with it.

I was looking at the SR9 because of the thinner build. have to have both in the hand to see how they fit.
