Hey guys,

I'm getting some new 7mmRM brass. I do plan on trimming the brass before loading.

But I really want to know if you guys would recommend running the brass though the sizing die. Or do you trust what your are getting?

Also, do you recommend tumbling new brass?

Yep. Resize, check the lengths and trim as required to get them all the same length, chamfer the inside and deburr the outside of the case mouth. You won't need to tumble them though.

I always full length resize and then trim to length and chamfer.Don't know if its always necessary but I've had a couple of minor problems in the past with neck size.I don't tumble new brass.I never saw any need to do so.

All brand new brass will be slightly different out of the box. Resizing and trimming to the same length(chamfering/deburring is required every time you trim) means the OAL won't be different due to the case length.

I check them for fit in the rifle first,if they all fit fine then I run them through the neck sizer die only to round out the necks. Chamfering inside and outside is done last,I then check the flash holes to make sure they are all the way through and there is no burrs on them.

Like 303carabine said check your primer pockets, I use a tool from Sinclair that cleans them, you will have some time 2 or 3 in 50 that tool will not remove jaged metal inside throw them in garbage, and if you want the best accuracy you should neck turn them all
