I have 7 Norwegian Krags now and all bought on gun forums as well as 4 other Mauser type 6.5x55mm rifles so am sold on the caliber. Six of the Krags have wonderful barrels (6.5X54 ms, 6.5X55, AND ,308 Win) and the other which I purchased from a schyster member of this forum is a total crock, rotten stock cracked right through, a Lee Enfield butchered sight attached by one off center screw and a rusty barrel. The bolt and receiver are good. So, Be careful to get good information as the trader rating and a seller's faux pics and information does not assure you of getting a decent rifle.
The good ones are superb light rifles, actions as smooth as butter, with little recoil and almost the accuracy of the Swedish Mausers, and would match the Mausers if the rifles could be scoped in a practical manner. I have just installed peep sights on two of these Krags and on One US Krag to greatly increase their performance for short range hunting. They are still available in great condition for reasonable prices and are a treat to shoot...find one and enjoy!
