So I have a very small starter collection of Enfields. Two sporters (One is a project gun) and one matching 1943 Long Branch No.4 Mk1*, and I just arranged to buy a very nice, minty, 1950 LB C No.4 Mk1* of the EE. Now, I have been bitten by the Enfield bug and over the next few years, hope to expand my collection. Now, I decided to focus on the No.4, Long Branch No.4's to be precise (but I will not turn down a good deal on another Enfield if one should arise). Now, my question is, what other Long Branches should I be on the hunt for to build a "complete" LB collection? I plan on getting one from every year if I can, but what about the specialty rifles like the RCMP ones or the DCRA conversions? I know its gonna be pricey and might take a few years to do.

A 41 LB and a No 4 Mk I* T Long Branch are high on people's lists!

49's aren't easy to come by.

Well, besides what you've mentioned already, another unique LB would be the CNo7 and as cantom said a sniper as well. You could also get an EAL. Good luck finding a '41 LB! :p

OK, so there are:
1941 No.4 Mk1 (Probably not gonna find one)
1942 No.4 Mk1*
1943 No.4 Mk1* (done)
1944 No.4 Mk1* (Have one, but its a bubba)
1945 No.4 Mk1*
1949 C No.4 Mk1* (might have a lead on one)
1950 C No.4 Mk1* (done)
No.4 Mk1* (T) (ya right, like I could afford one)
No.4 Mk1* RCMP (might have a lead on one)
No.4 Mk1* DCRA 7.62 conversion (Damn, missed on on the EE)
C No.7 Mk1 .22 trainer

Anything else?

Looks like its gonna be fun, but I have a feeling finding a 1941 LB is gonna be easier then convincing my dad that I need all of them. I broke the news about the 1950 and he was not happy.

Ah yes, smuggling new toys past parents.

Hey, just tell them that you've had this old thing forever; after all they all look exactly the same :welcome:

Fellow Long Branch junkie

Oh yeah, and once you find that you start needing doubles of everything, just go for councelling, trust me it has to be cheaper.

When you have both 1943 receiver variations and both 1949 marking variations, I guess you just have to give up fighting it...:slap:
