Help me out please. Just got my 338 lap on the weekend and am overwhelmed by options? any help and information would be appreciated... about the 2g range for budget, if I get more than 5gs in this thing, next, I will need help with a divorce lawyer in SK. Thanks.

for 2g id be looking at nightforce line up, if you wanted to go a bit cheaper could look at the sightrons, best bang for the buck apparently...

i just manned up and went S&B

On mine I have the NF NXS 5.5 - 22 x50 because the rail and the rings I chose to use doesn't allow for the larger 56 objective. Using higher rings you could use a 56 and, as I've written before, the Sightron is a very viable option at about one half the NF price.

i personally hummed and hawed about a Night force nxs 250 in 5.5-22 for months. I bought one last year with high speed turrets " 20moa adj " in one turn and zero stop... Ill never run anything else ever again unless night force comes out with someting better.

Being that you went 338 lapua if your gonna be shooting 500 plus regularily i would step up to the 8-30 i believe it is. 1000 yards is nothing for that cartridge. If you have the spot to do it, a 30 power night force will get you plinking at 2000 no prob.

i dont personally have any exsperience with the sightrons but i hear good things. From what i hear there the next option. Personally not a fan of leupold Mark 4's

I put a Leupold Mark4,8.5-25. TMR lighted reticle option.
I have shot this combo out to 2000ish yards. Love the reticle design.
Any time I See a scopeGo much past 25 power, i see a scope that nearly "never" gets used past 20 power. The thermals simply make it impossible. If your conditions are perfect, then you can utilize the additional magnification.

What ever suits your fancy really. Just go out and shoot! Have fun!

My 338 is kitted with a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22 x56 with NPR2 reticle(true MOA reticle with moa adjustments) and the zero stop turrets. Love this scope!!!!

338 savage optics

Roger that guys. Thanks. I had a friend in the know who was pointing me toward sightron or nightforce. I ll do a little more research and pull the trigger on one of the two. Can't wait to get this big, fat, black baby out on the range and see what it will do. 10 inches of rain this month is west central SK means no work and lots of bench time ahead. Thanks again guys. Happy shooting. Btw, I am not actually scared of my wife.

why 6-24 instead of 8-32?

The 6-24 has 100MOA of elevation travel and the 8-32 has 70.

That’s the only reason.

Also the MOA retical is accurate at 24 power on both scopes. So if I’m holding off with the 32 power scope I have to do it at 24 power.
