What to replace the 10/22 with?

For the record, I replaced my 10/22 with a Marlin 60 and a Stevens 87D.

Not because of the magazine clusterhump, but because I was just disappointed with my 10/22. I bought a brand new one -- Stainless Birch Sporter or something like that from Cabela's -- and was disappointed with the quality. Looked nice and was accurate after I tightened things up, but was disappointed overall.

Selling the 10/22 and the now forbidden magazine almost paid for the Marlin and the Stevens. Just about but not quite.

Stevens 87D was an interesting story. Picked it up on impulse. Had clots of dust and dirt and bugs and hair in the action and in the bolt. Quick clean with some BriteBore and a quick lube with a shaving brush loaded with Hoppes No. 9 and it ran like new.

I've had very good luck with the Stevens 87 and the Savage 6 -- they are very neat rifles.

Well now that the rcmp buzzkilled the 10/22 what do we buy? Whats the next best high capacity rimfire rifle?

Nothing: take the money you would spend on a new rimfire and join the CSSA and fight this BS. Giving up / giving in to the LIEberal / RCMP BS should not be an option at this point. The legal fight has just started.

I believe the RCMP are hoping to get a legal precedent set with their latest and incorrect re-interpretation of law
End result is that any magazine the RCMP deem to be "over-capacity" is prohibited
Handgun mag, rifle mag, and rimfire cartridge mags will all meet the same fate at the hands of the RCMP
Replacing your 10/22 with something else won't help you, because the RCMP will soon prohibit mags for that new rifle as well, and the rifle you replace that with, and so on
Boomer686 Is quite correct in suggesting you join one of our Canadian firearms organizations, and maybe kick a few dollars their way for a donation
##### slapping the RCMP in court is the only way this mess is going to get sorted out in our favor, as it rightfully should

The recommended action to owners of these mags has been well explained by the Canadian Firearm Orgs and their legal teams. Before blurting out about non-compliance owners should read the recommendations first. In either case the best course of action is to support these orgs and the legal fight they are mounting.
