What to use to grease semi-auto pistols?

the slide rails may be polymer,...but the metal sticking out of the plastic is the part the slide rides on.
Actually, I believe that the rails on P345 are all-plastic . It's the only polymer gun designed that way as far as I know.

I use Brian Enos SLide Glide -lite on the recoil spring assembly, thin coat on the barrel, and slide rails....also around the hammer strut/hammer spring...I use oil....if so just sparingly on the mag springs and to clean up the mags.

+1.. SlideGlide is amazing stuff.. the dirtier it gets, the more it seems to work ..

like i said, whatever works for them, saves a couple dollars for the consumer too... still get an awesome product, and if something should happen (althought it looks doughtful) where the gun needs replacing your not out 1500 dollars.

no the whole rail is polymer... there is no metal anywhere on the slide rail, not even where the slide contacts the rail.

Here we go again. The rails are ploymer. They are a non-issue in terms of reliability. The XD is another gun that employs this non-metallic route.

Additionally, Ruger also uses that caming system on the 345. This takes a lot of the bearing from a traditional slide rail.

I was told not to oil my 45 auto at all. Dry gun is abetter gun according to my instructor when I took my restricted. He did say a light oil around end of muzzle as slide contacts the barrel.

I was using militec gun grease for a while, then found that after running the gun in sand environment, it got all gritty, and sand stuck to all sorts of places. so I went back to CLP. I don't even heavy lube anymore. a little dab'll do ya. Mostly on slide, and where there is friction, metal on metal. I found militec is better suited for AR stuff.

Though, if part of regular maintenance, gunk has to be cleaned out anyway and reapplied, so in the end it doesn't really matter.

for reference, i'm talking about the glock and sig.
