What up with the EE?

I am looking at getting a larger caliber hand gun and I was
Looking throught the EE and there are a ton of beretta for sale. What is up with that?


I got my eye on a .40 cal beretta 96d the seller wants $450 is this a good price or should I keep shopping
 
The 96's were surplused from various PD's.

$450 isn't a bad price. Some came with Meprolite night sights, but most of those will be dim as heck by now.
 
How hard/ how much would it cost to change it over from double action only to single action

not that hard but you need several parts. and you still wont the the safety/decoker. I had a parts kit for this for sale (sold a while back) for $75.
 
Not too worried about the safety decocker. Do I need a gun smith? Or is it pretty simple?
And if anyone has one of those kits or know where I can get one feel free to drop me a line
 
I changed my DAO to a single/double and it isn't hard. Sear, pin, spring, hammer. Just search on line for the drawings and it's a simple change/install. Hammer's changed and the rest are an install. It now has a VERY smooth trigger.
