Hello, What was the first year that the Ithaca Model 37, 12 gauge, 28" or 30" barrel shotgun was produced with removable choke tubes?
And if anyone knows a site sponsor who has one for sale, please advise. Thank you.

That's a difficult question to answer but a lot of the manufacturer's started putting changeable chokes on their guns in the mid eighties.

My only M37 in 16 gauge is dated 1942 and marked full choke but somewhere along he line someone had a Polychoke installed.

here we go first answer has nothing to do with question
best of my recall the37 never had choke tubes 1987 when ithaca restructured and called it the model 87 that was the first year the 37 never had factory choke tubes

I don't want to dig out my copy of Snyder's Ithaca Featherlight Repeaters book, but I also believe it was around 1987.

I believe Polychokes were offered right from the beginning of production.
