My last big game was taken with a Uberti 76 Winchester carbine in 45/60.Unfortunately I let a friend talk me out of it a while later but I have just rectified this by recently purchasing another one from prophet riverView attachment 662835
4 x4 mulie taken @ 601 measured yards with my Ruger .300 Win Mag pushing a 180gr Nosler Partition at 3000fps.
Bullet took the buck at a quartering away angle and he folded right there.
Then things went sideways as during the gutting and loading process I managed to loose my wallet. Couldn't get back to the spot for a couple of days and it snowed about 3 inches. Found it by dragging a stick around where I had been working on the deer. I had $400.00 and a lotto max ticket in there so I was a little panicked!
Last animal was a white tail buck, on last day of the season with 375 Ruger M-77 Hawkeye , sierra 250 gr sp, RL 15 powder, 77 grains, Av-2827
Last day cold windy , I was going to stay home, but friend convinced me to go with him, we were driving around, looking for deer, maybe seen a couple not big enough , he decided we should go check out another spot , so we were driving along a trail came up a little hill and there he was 80 yds away, a couple does farther off about 110 yds away, we both noticed the deer at same time , as he stopped , I jumped out loaded one shell into the gun and raised up on toward the deer, he was already starting to move way, i shot him in the neck, and he dropped right there , turned out to be a good day after all,
2pt mule buck
Savage 243win

My 3yr old son got to watch the whole thing play out and helped with all the work after.
A memory for a lifetime
