What would a max load be for?

A reminder to work your way up to a Max load, and never start off with one.

Every rifle is different, and a Max load that works for someone else, may go KABOOOOM in yours.

As Gatehouse stated, it depends on the powder you are using.

Don't know if this is what you had in mind as your question is a little on the vague side.....

There is the max load according to the book,and the safe max load for your rifle.They are quite likely not the same.

If you're just looking for max velocity, look for a sloooooow powder. H870's ideal, if you can find it. If not, US869 should be a good choice, but I've not had a chance to try it yet. RL25, 7828, AA8700, H50BMG, and Retumbo ought to be performers as well.

Well I been useig 60gr of H1000 and 160 gr bullets Just wondering what a good moose load would be? Hope this work I am gone tomorrow .......yayy! thanks guys for the help

My pet load in the 264 is 75 grains of H5010 behind the 140 Partition. Good velocities and superb accuracy. Start at 73 and work up. Regards, Eagleye.

Reloader 22 , and IMR 7828 with 140's you should get around 3200 fps. Be advised that this cal can be a barrel burner if not careful, common sense in cooling , and not pushing it too hard, and heavy bullets are better.
