The rubber pads are okay, but I would like to keep the original metal plate, with a plastic spacer between the wood and the plate to lengthen the pull. Google is a friend indeed.
could you not put the rubber against the wood and then the metal plate at the end? use two longer screws but it might be a bugger removing the cleaning kit .
