Hello new member here, and i also new to guns/riffles and have no exsperience.I have downloaded the manuels to take the test. Now i want to start hunting small animals like, squirels, rabbit, birds, etc what riffle and scope would be good for a beginner to use to get to know the basic's on the used market?

A 22 lr is the best first choice for someone new to shooting, they are not only cheap to shoot but are typicaly cheeper to buy. I would probably go with a semi of some sort as it would be more to suited and fun for small varmint hunting, also a bolt action repeater could be a second choice. But hone your skills with the open sites before going with the cool factor of a scope.

Bolt action repeater with iron sights.
Inexpensive to shoot and you'll learn all the principles without going broke.
That'll come later when you start shooting centre fire.:D

I learned on a 70 year old single shot .22. Perfect for learning the basics of shooting. Any type of single shot repeaters (Bolt, Leaver and Pump actions) are best. And as stated above its damn cheap to shoot, and you will go through a lot of ammo while learning. Just a note, Many of the semi-auto .22's are flawed and will have feeding issues (not all of them) so watch out for that. i have read nothing but good things from the Ruger 10/22 though.
