what would you classify a CZ-858?

Just looking for evreyones oppinion, What do you consider a CZ-858?, is it a modren military riffle?, a red rifle? or a surplus rifle?
 
Technically you could shoehorn it into any one of those categories. However, here on CGN, it seems that the Red Rifle term/forum was specifically set up to deal with surplus modern military rifles from the Communist Bloc countries.
 
Yep, semi-auto only civilian version of a red military rifle.

I wouldn't call the design 'modern' either. Timeless, well maybe. :cool:
 
Red Surplus?
Better than an SKS but worse than an AR. I've only shot one of them but it was a fun toy for a couple mags.

Whatever that thing is chemo posted is franken-junk and I dont think anyone including Stoner himself could get that combo to work. What a waste of time and money.
 
It's a civilian version of a modern military rifle, simply because a modern military uses it. It's a hybrid black rifle / combloc gun, kind of like an AK47 only better.
 
hard to say....

why is an AR-15 a "modern" black rifle while the vz 58 a "red rifle"?

because "red rifle" is just a CGN term for combloc firearms..... both the AR and VZ came into existence around the same time

it can go in either category, depends how you interpret it
