Say you just purchased a valuable antique for a premium price (at least $1000 above book value) you have a great deal of experience with type wise, to find fully a 1/4 of the grips are epoxy filler, numerous screws are modern replacements and are still buggered, the bolt is crudely dremeled and a modern replacement clearly installed to remedy excessive cylinder slop (judging by significant cylinder wear). The same night of the day you met the individual in person, you unwrap the gun and find serious issues, and you get back to them saying you are not impressed with the condition, and we need to talk about this gun, detailing the issues. I also drove to the seller despite paying a shipped price, and he kept the shipping money no qualms from me, as a token of good faith on my part. Now he ignores your emails and phone calls, sending a single ranting reply saying he is shocked, appalled, and ashamed of my concerns. We live in the same area now, just a couple kilometres apart, and he will not be able to avoid me. My biggest frustration is him retaliating to me leaving negative feedback with a negative for me as buyer, marring a trader rating I've built at 100% positive over many years. Do you bite the bullet and accept a negative as part of the deal on your end, or just forget this individual and watch him continue to sell to others here? On principle I want to leave a negative at this point.
