What would you look to for a non-restricted service rifle for competition right now?

With the way the PE90 game is going, who knows what will happen, though I may be behind the times. Considering the TAVOR, but accuracy doesn't seem too swell for match shooting. I'd really prefer to stay non-restricted, suggestions folks? Want to go .223 / 556 this time.

I don't have a lot of faith in non-restricted black rifles staying non-restricted in the long run. None of them are as nice as an AR even at twice the price. But, if I had to choose, I'd probably go with the ACR if the Swiss is not a choice.

FS 2000 with a non-restricted, match type barrel.
It is about the only rifle I can think of that along with the Swiss Arms, can give the AR/C7 a run for its money.

We have a 1,000 yard range, but it's not a registered / approved range, so has to remain non-restricted. If down the road that means bolt guns, sadly that's the way we have to do. FS2000 is high on my list, and there's one on the EE at the moment.

Well, just bought a Tavor, will see about suffering through the trigger. If it doesn't work, easy resell.

I'm a low 500s shooter with the old match 1 - 12 and tried an FS 2000 in one match - score was 489 Iirc.
That rifle had the original 17.5" ish FN barrel shooting 69gr. SMK hand loads - presumably that could be improved upon with the better barrel and nutter behind the trigger.
I tried the Tavor I had in practice sessions and pretty much gave up on the 300m line when it was evident it grouped minute of 4' screen at that distance - ymmv.
Never tried an ACR, those may be viable too.

I never could score as well with the swiss arms as with the AR15 but it still did very well. I'm waiting to see if the SG542 might be worth using for a little of the old FN C1 bigger bang feel.

Anybody try a Benelli MR1? I have an AR and a Swiss but would like to test drive a Benelli.

The one issue I saw with the MR1 is the ultra light barrel and the way the gas system is attached to it. It's crimped on in a way that doesn't lend itself to removal an re-installation. So, if you ever had to re-barrel (which will be more frequent since it's ultra-light), and couldn't get the replacement assembly, you can't even re-barrel it with a blank without creating a whole new gas block for it.

I would go with the new ACR Non Restricted or the XCR-L(Latest version Only) if you wait a bit the next series 2014 will be the Keymod XCR...and a better bolt!

i shoot the h@k sl8 at first i was so so about it ....but now im so happy.... it is so freaking accurate with factory ammo its a lazer beam...as long as i shoot 62grs or heavier and the hornady 75gr bthp dear god just amazing.......its non restricted can hunt with it ...great toy for coyotes just need a good scope
just my two cents.....but by what you like and that way you will be happy with it......my problem is now girlfriend got her lic to hunt and i showed her the h@k and now she just loves it and wants to shoot it all the time !!!!!
