The search feature can be murder.... I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find anything.

What range does everyone zero there hunting scopes at and why?

I have heard everything from 50yrds to 200yrds quoted.

What cartridge, and what hunting conditions? Most all-round cartridges, a 200 yard zero is about right for an all-round setup.

I used to use MPBR (well, I still do with my Weatherby due to the insane trajectory), but stick with 200 yards for most everything now except .30-30 and .22LR.

since you asked about our rifles . . .
my 7 mag is zero at 300
3.6 high at 100 and 3.5 low at 350

Perfect for deer. no thinking from 0-350 (so a 350 MPBR) just hold on center. and for moose i turn it up 4 clicks(up an inch at 100) and MPBR is over 400 yds

but all my other rifles are around 200 and 30-30 is 125.

but it depends on game you are hunting some have larger vitals

Yeah that was kinda of the random post I guess....

Hunting conditions well... Just average. Not to open, not to thick. Jack of all trades, master of none type of thing.

I'll be the odd man out. The past few years I've had my 257bee and 300winmag zeroed at 300.

I find that most of my misses in my lifetime have been from shooting over animals. Now I never leave the kill zone for 300 and if it's any further than than I'm on the back line so good to 400 or so. If I need more than that I'm too far for the way I shoot :sniper:
