What's a fair price for a gen 3 Glock 17?

I want a 9mm Glock to accompany my Glock .45. I have been looking around and used they seem to be almost the same price as new, save for the taxes.
But that's in the EE where some guns are selling used for more than the same model is new.

Then again if they sell for a price, they sell, right?

So my question is, what's a fair price to pay for an excellent condition pre-owned gen 3 G 17 with all the factory stuff?

I'm patient and willing to wait till after the holidays (probably a better time to buy financially for me, but always have my eyes open for good deals)
 
Ah, you're touching on a hot subject, namely; why sellers stubbornly present items for sale at prices that are at or near the same as new one's. And then when you open the negotiation at a lower price, you simply get ignored or slandered. Very odd, and reveals a tendency not to understand that the present value of money is greater than the future value of an uncertain amount. So can't help you there.

In my opinion, and I am the owner of a G17 Gen 4, I would say a good condition Gen 3 should sell for around $500 - 550. Whether you will get somebody to sell one at that price is another thing. If you are expecting to pay much less ... forget it.

Well, seeing as how you can buy a new one for about $650, I would say significantly less than that would be reasonable. This of course depends on round count and just what all is included. The round count is something you likely will never know for sure, so overall external condition is a better gauge. As for accessories, its nice when a guy throws in a holster or some other bits, but unless its something you need or want, they add nothing to the deal and only seem to add to the asking price. Short of parts and magazines, most accessories are simply deal sweeteners.

A Gen 3 17 in good/excellent condition, 500-1000 rounds and the factory extras. I would say $575-600 is a fair price.

Good to excellent condition $525 - $575. I have bought and sold a few on the EE in that price range.

I also see a sponsoring dealer consistently stocks used 17s and 22s in this range.
 
I will sell mine for 525 + shipping. It comes with everything that was in the box as new. There are no scratches and it's in perfect condition. Round count is around 900 or less. Cleaned after every range visit.
 
no more than 500 for a glock 17 used with 2 mags...some folks bought them new thru gssf and iop programs for 508 dollars!!!, ive seen them new for as low as 599 at dealers

I'm not sure its fare to base the value of a used one on a discounted price. The majourity of them are purchased at retail prices.
 
Its still a used gun... A ALOT of people got them for that price... Me included...

Then again I buy my Guns new since its seems to be cheaper then the EE...
 
I don't really mine to pay $550 for a good used one if I want, infact I did bought some guns quite close to retail price at a excellent condition, what I save is the hst and a little bit, but still I save about a hundred but the gun was proven to be a good shooter.

Agreed,

If one asks the seller for more pics of a stock, excellent condition, low round count glock, it will be sold before the pic is even opened.

Very true.

I have been looking to buy a Glock 22 and try to work out a decent price for one on the EE but people want $600 and up for one that has had 3000 rounds or so through it.

Might aswell buy new one for that price. Even if I have to pay tax I dont care considering I will get peace of mind and know exactly what I am getting
