what's a good 1911 that's fully functional like a real 1911 to train a child on?

my grandson is 5...gonna be 6 soon and I'd like to start training him on firearm safety.

what are my options for a full on replica of a 1911? preferably one that's smaller, like a Browning 1911-22, so it's easier for them to handle.

there are some great airsoft guns that look and feel very close to the real thing

But they are lighter and have less recoil. and you dont need to go the range to shoot them

There's a Canadian retailer of air guns who maintains a YouTube channel to host his product reviews. Watching his videos might help you decide. The YouTube channel is called Replica Airguns.

I'm not sure if you're looking for a replica BB or pellet gun, or something that is an actual firearm, but I bought a Sig Sauer/GSG 1911-22 and I think it's great. 22lr 1911 that is about 90% identical to a 45 or 9mm government model. It's cheap to shoot and have almost no recoil, and almost every small component is interchangeable with other 1911 parts. That and you can get them for $350 or so.

I'm looking for a replica...one that my SiL can take home (he's not got his PAL/RPAL) and sit down with the lad.
