I'm relatively new to IPSC and currently shooting production division. I plan on moving into Standard sometime in the future and as luck would have it, recently found out im going to be comming into some free money in a few months so........time to start looking for a pistol. Big question is what kind. I definately plan to get my hands on as many as I can before making the purchase, however I'd like to get some recomendations for where to start looking. The 2 big deciding factors im going to be looking at are Grip and Customization. Although grip is always important, its especially a challenge for me because I have REALLY tiny hands. As for customization I'd like something that I can play with and possibly tune up to open division later on if I so decide.

The top picks for a standard division gun are the STI/SVI's with the modular grip, Tanfoglio's and Para's. Since you said you had small hands I think the Tanfoglio might be a better fit then the others.

Yeah I'll be there Ron, as long as my armorer shows ;) Oh in an unrelated matter, I think we solved my ammo problem....the lot of lead I loaded seem to be shaped differently than other lots. I'll show ya what we found on weds.

I am getting a Tan LC in .40 for standard.

I have been using a Tan Stock2 9mm for production, and I am sold on them. They are reliable, feed and extract well, and are accurate. The grip is second to none.

The CZ Tactical sport model is very affordable and very competitive.

You can even get some nice option parts for CZ now from Ghost Holster in the states. I got some very nice aluminum grips and magwell, as well as a fibre optic front site. Wouldn't shoot anything else right now.
