a friend of mine has a Browning A-Bolt 7mm Mag White Gold Medallion with a 4-12 Leupold European-30 scope mounted with tip off mounts for sale....

he doesnt has a price just yet but i was thinking to make an offer for myself...whats a good fair price to offer?

You really shouldn't be looking at USA prices from Reed's as you cannot ship that rifle here. You need to know the Canadian Prices...

They can't ship directly to Canada but guns can be brokered in by a licenced FFL. It's not a super difficult process and costs vary depending on the shipping but it can usually be done for $200-$300 and less if you can get in on a shipment that someone else is doing. No doubt it's easier to buy one in Canada and for new guns it's typically cheaper but if you find a gun in the U.S. that you really want and can't find it here or it's an unreal deal, it can usually be sent up here without too much hassle. I don't think pricing guns in the U.S. is a bad way to comparison shop. Bearing in mind the extra cost of getting it up here of course.
 
Just going by the pictures and not knowing the rifling or crown condition or the "marks " on the stock I think that an offer of $1150 would be fair for the package. That is, if the rifle appears in excellent condition.

The scope is a nice item.

Consider the rifle as $1050 new, less about 20% for used.....
The scope and rings are easily worth $350 used.

I think that is a reasonable guideline for a rifle in that condition. Not a steal of a deal, but fair.

And those look like QR rings if Im not mistaken.

Very true. This system works well if you are buying several rifles or, like "sheephunter" said, you get a steal of a deal.

I believe "Noel" could shed some light on bringing rifles up from the US. I think he is headed to Sweetgrass shortly.....
 
Well, brand new you can get that rifle model & caliber for $1160 +taxes.
If I'm coming up with the right model by sight, the Leupold can be gotten for $400 + taxes

So, we'll say $1560. So, I typically do 25% for used, but we'll stick with the 20%, which takes it to about $1248. So Rem and huntinstuff are pretty bang on, when you figure out that I didn't include the taxes your friend paid when he had to buy it, or the rings for the scope.

The only thing you gotta ask yourself is, is that a price you're happy with? If not, sit down and dicker over the price a little, and hopefully come up with something between the two prices that'll make you both happy.

Let me rephrase my answer, yes it can be shipped here, but not for 999 and he was using that number to compare prices.... its not quite like ordering from wholesale. If you are going to use the US prices for comparison, then you need to add in your 200-300 beans and take into account your wait time. But yes it can be done.
