There are a lot of good bags out there. Some have more pockets & little features than others, but in the end they all do the same thing - they allow you to carry all your $hit in one hand (or on your shoulder) to the range.
The only thing I will caution you of is to not get too big a bag - you will only carry too much $hit to the range.
Good advice, right there! Too late for me, I've got:
- Ear defenders, safety glasses,
- hat, uplula, plano with spare parts and batteries, scotch tape (left-eye dominant... don't ask)
- 5 mags (if anyone found my sixth... you know...
- mag brush, toothbrush (if you drop a mag outdoors, unload and clean before using again)
- Shot timer, Range IDs, IPSC Rules, Store and Transport flyer, ATT and Reg Certs, hand wipes, kleenex
- Holster/Belt/Mag pouches, cleats or sneakers, ammo (about 300-400 rounds for a good practice day or higher-end match), brass bag, pistol case, keys (learned that one the hard way)
I don't normally carry patch gun and patches, or chrony, or anything like that in the range bag (no room)
