What's a good shotgun sling?

What do you guys think is a good, comfortable, two point sling for a short shotgun? Maybe something out of softer leather. I need a new one. Not so much for carrying long distances, but to shoulder to free my hands for a short while and something simple.

My son uses an Uncle mike's sling on his duck gun, I have an old leather one that I use on mine.
I like the looks of leather, but truth be told, I think cordura stands up better to the elements.
The only thing I don't like about my Westley Richards SXS is that it doesn't have swivels on it for picking up ducks in the field - and 'm not about to put them on!

Some people don't like you "drive by guns" in this section so how dare you post here! If its shorter and lighter then a full sized 28" expensive and fancy wood shotgun ( AKA more practical for some peoples use/tasks for them) they see them as garbage.

I'm not offended by anyone's assumptions. I just need a good sling. And I don't think Win/64 meant anything by his post either.

I meant what I said you might find more info in the other Forum. Is that ok with you "Ach"? and "B" was it not worthwhile to tell someone they might find better info elsewhere?

You know guys, I spend part of my life answering other peoples' questions over these forums in good faith and when I ask a simple one of my own, this is the thanks I get.

Real swell, thank you.

I use a Red head sling on my SX3 opens long enough to throw over your back if you need it to. I hate shooting in a blind or on a canoe with a sling on my gun and most would advise you to remove the sling before shooting starts.

On my deer gun I do keep the sling as it can help steady you from an offhand stance if used right.

Hi easy:
I use the gel ?? ribbed padded ones made by AVERY ( greenhead) I think the company name is. They have a ducks unlimited leather triangle patch on them. I have them on all the browning golds and win superx2's. They work fine for me and I pay about 25-28.00 for them.
Just have to make sure the style when ordering since some have the loop on one end and the other style the uncle mike's swivels on each end.
I get most of them off e-bay. take care

Your choice of sling should be tied to the use of the gun. A sling on a water fowl gun need only be a carry strap, and the elastic band type would make carrying slung more comfortable, as would be the case with most traditional applications of the shotgun. By contrast, if the shotgun was loaded with slugs and being used as a short range rifle, there would be a benefit in choosing a shooting sling if you were to shoot from a rested position, particularly with a semi-auto with it's fixed fore-end.
