whats a good source for ar info (book)

Thinking strongly that my next purhase sometime in the summer might be a rifle built on the AR platform. I would like to get a head start on understanding the do's and don'ts as well as just general info on the firearm (maintenance, ect.). I have 12 years shooting expierience but not with that platform. If you guys could recomend some good books that will be worth my time reading I would apreciate it. The book that is recomended the most will be my first purchase. Thanks in advance.

I know there is alot of info on the internet but I have more time availiable to read a book than access a computer.

You may have more time to read but you will NEED to go here once you start building and fixing them. I doubt there is a book that comes close to the resources here;

No brainer : Patrick Sweeney's AR vol 1 and 2. I have both and read 'em all the time. They're well written, illustrated and the guy knows what he's talking about.

But books aren't enough. Check the CGN threads, don't be afraid to ask questions. The guys here are great! Good luck!
