What's a NIB Colt SP1 worth?

So, I have this NIB Colt Sporter Target Model SP1 AR-15, s/n ST 01045x, with all the goodies in their plastic bags and whatnot. The box looks a little rough as I was doing the UN thing overseas when AR-15's were made restricted; the folks keeping my firearms for me handed it over to the local RCMP until I got home. The members treated my property very well and the rifle and bits remains unmarked and unopened, but the box got a little crunched.

So anyways, on memory, this rifle was manufactured sometime around 1990 I would guess, maybe even a couple of years earlier. I paid (I think) $800 for it back then; never did shoot it because the CF was more than happy to provide me with my very own C7/C7A1, etc. And then I had my brother's AR-15 as a "shooter", so the new one has remained in the gun safe ever since.

Could the local affectionados give me some ballpark figures on what this rifle is worth on the market today if I were to sell it/try to replace it?

Thanks guys.

Worth about $800.00- $900.00 depending on condition, the SP1 is nothing special there are plenty in Canada. In the USof A they are worth more.

If you do wish to sell it, send me a PM. :D

Some pics of the rifle might help too...

If it is NIB not fired - its value to a Colt collector is hard to determine.

However Colt market value -- $1000-1200.

I got a NIB Colt AR15A2 Delta HBar for $1800 a few months ago.

Thanks Kevin. If I'd have known it was going to be a safe queen this long, I would have invested the money in the market and come out further ahead...

Still, if the government had pulled any "short barrelled handguns unsuitable for sporting purposes" stuff on the AR's during the time this is the only one I had, it would have saved me with the ol' grandfather clause... So it has been good insurance.

Value of Colt AR15 HBAR?

My friend is thinking about putting his AR on the EE. It is a Colt Target HBAR. The lower has the Colt sear block, the carrier is thus c shaped at the rear, the lower is the earlier design with no fence around the mag button. No bayo lug. Two screw large hole front pin. Colt grey finish. A2 round handguards, A2 rear sight.

The rifle is as new, very beautiful. It's seen less than 100 rounds. Has the original box, 2 colt 20/5 mags etc.
Current market value?

Unfortunately that is the combination of the least desireable features in the one model...

My guess is $1000.
Without the sear block it would be more.

Opinions appreciated people.

When he hears this he'll likely decide not to sell it. If anyone's interested might want to pipe up...I know he wouldn't sell it for a grand. $1200 plus might work. It is of course a Colt, not brand X. I'll pass any offers along.
