Whats an H&R Handi Rifle worth? 45/70

What they're worth and what people ask for them on the EE, are entirely different imo. Given what they sold for new, I wouldn't look at a used one over $300 . Unfired , maybe $350. In their last two years of production, they could be had for $260 at many vendors.

I’m out of the loop but i would like a handi rifle. I’ve searched online and haven’t really found anything. Are
They still made or hard to find in Canada

Bought her new for $480.00.

Priceless as far as I'm concerned. Have the Buffalo Classic with 32" barrel. 3 elk, 1 moose down. Just something satisfying harvesting with it.

Boils down to how bad someone wants it!

And the gentleman with the 500 S&W, hats off to you sir!

They stopped production of the Handi rifle a couple years ago unfortunately so you need to track a used one down. You see them from time to time on the EE.
They are fun little single-shots in my opinion.
I got a buck with my 35 Whelen handi-rifle last fall and will try to do the same with the 30-30 H&R this year!

The H&R were cheap to buy when in production. I predict prices will go up as supply dwindle like anything else. Swapping barrel option is pretty cool as long as you stay within either centrefire or rimfire. I have a 17hmr which has a heavy barrel. Goes bang every time, take down is super easy. Great little rifle.

Prices mentioned so far are reasonable. Yes, the 500 S&W barrel is certainly the prize of the lot though!! Love to have that one.

cheers,

And before Savage introduced the Stevens 200 and everyone started making bolt-action guns affordable, the Handi-Rifles were over $400 new in this country, making them the cheapest new hunting rifles you could get. And $400 was worth more then than it is now.

Seeing them in the EE these days asking $500 makes me think they probably typically go for $400-450 and perhaps some buyers don't admit they paid over $400.

I just bought one in 300 Blackout which I don't think are too common, I have not got but should have it this week and when done i paid $375 for it from a dealer

I've seen a few in 45-70 go for around $350. I have always been tempted but said to myself I don't really need it. Most of the time ended up wishing I bought it.
