Deer season is just around the corner here in Ontario. So what's everybody carrying this year? I'll get the ball rolling. I am taking a Winchester Model 88 carbine in .308 and a Remington 7600 in .35 whelen. I've been hunting deer for three years now with no success, so hopefully this is my year.

A Savage 99F in 300 savage with a model 94 BB in 356 as back up if something goes wrong. Also a CVA wolf 50 cal for black powder.

Dogging/sitting in the hardwoods. Ruger M77 in .308. Loaded with 150gr Winchester PowerMax

Dogging/sitting in the mixed woods. Win 94 in 3030 160gr LeverEvolution

Dogging in the really thick stuff. 870 Wingmaster. Rifle sights and a smooth bore allow me to take a few chickens along the way too. Winchester Rackmasters

Either the Marlin .45/70 with new 400 gr. Hollow pt. gas check, or 50/90 Sharps with new 450gr. Hollow pt. and 110 gr. of Black Powder.

7mm Rem Mag Sendero with VX-3 4.5x14, 160 grain accubonds at ~ 3000 fps
45-70 guide gun with Williams Peep, 420 grain hardcast MT.Chambers at 1900 fps

My nemisis of 4 years has reappered on my hunting grounds, this year he goes on the wall.

This year, the whities get either a 6.5mm 129 gr sst at ~2800 or a .458 500gr soft cast lead at ~1500-1600.

My mulie got a 129gr sst at 2800 and he didn't like it. Took out about 6 C-spine though. Kinda a reactive bullet at that speed, deer just flew legs over and quit.

No whitetails involved, but I will be chasing blacktails with:
Tikka T3 in .270 w 130gr Partitions
Rem 742 in .30-06 w 110 CoreLokt
Baikal MP221 in .45-70 w TBD
Win94 in .30-30 w 150gr Federal blue box

The deer demand variety!

at the moment, a .303 Enfield sporter backed up with a .35 cal Ross M10, but I might be buying something new in the next couple weeks and leaving the Ross in the locker.
