I carry around an emergency kit with the bare minimum: An energy bar, waterproof matches, emergency bivy, etc.

But it did dawn on me that we didn't have a proper first aid kit. I have one from several years ago when I did a lot of outdoors stuff. Honestly couldn't use all of the items in it in an emergency. I figured though that for non-urgent matters, we could always figure out / read in the little manual that comes with it (like for sprains or stuff like that).

I wanted to know, what does your camp first aid kit contains?

SJ hardware has some really good IFAK first aid kits. I have a top notch one I carry in my hunting bag and a better one in the truck. Look to see whats is in some of these kits and you can quickly realize the $10 first aid kit from the hardware store is not much help.

Add a tourniquet and compression bandages to your basic safety kit. You may not have time to unlace your boot or may be wearing rubber boots.

Just bought an islreali bandage for my kit that otherwise contains your standard stuff, bandaids, polysporin, gauze, tape, a tensor wrap, etc.

I have an extensive one in the console of my truck, a large one at camp and one that goes on car camping trips. For hunting, I have one of those Coleman premade kits, the ones in the yellow hard case, in each of my packs. I add benadryl and wrap a bandana around it and I'm good to go.

my wife's friend is an ambulance paramedic and she bought my wife one of those complete first aid kits from some earthquake preparedness company out of vancouver area.
I couldn't possibly attempt to list all the stuff in there but it pretty much covers anything encountered in a first aid situation from bumps and bruises to gunshot wounds to car accidents..
I add Advil green gelcaps , Advil extra strength (clear horse pills) , Tylenol xtra strength, and my perscriptions Toridol (injection), Tramidol , gabapentin, muscle relaxers, CBD oil caps and we also have benadryl , gravol, epi pen...... in case someone gives me gravol by mistake..... LOL .... or my wife gets hit with a bee sting

I carry a larger ifak on my belt while hunting, it’s got a 2-3 person first aid kit with all the usual band-aids, med tape, tweezers, emergency blanket blah blah blah. Plus 4” & 6” pressure dressings, shears, clotting agent, tq, combat gauze, vet wrap, gloves. Extra tq is in my pants leg pocket, probably an item or two I’m forgetting.

I carry it at work while I’m running a chainsaw, it’s not large and it doesn’t get in the way.
