Another what's it worth thread as I am not into this type of guns.
Asking for an acquaintance who is thinking of selling this legally owned fully functional FN FAL C1A1 made by Canadian Arsenals Limited.
Neat piece of Canadian history, this is one of the former OPP models. Ian from Forgotten Weapons has a video on this model on Youtube.

The rifle is in great condition, has sling and two magazines.

From a bit of asking around I found out that exporting to the US is not an option as they would not allow import of this rifle.

Are there any 12.5 license owners that can shed some light on the current value, or other options to sell?
Like deactivation cost and subsequent value for this rifle in deactivated state?

Sorry for the dark pictures, didn't take them myself but got hem from the owner.

I don't know if this will help much or not as it was a while back but about 7-8 years ago I sold a very good condition C1A1 with no sling and one mag for $1200. I probably undervalued it as I was selling it for a friend who had bought several 12/2 estate guns but there were two FN's in the lot that he couldn't buy as they were 12/5s and he didn't have that certification so I bought them to sell for him.

I had several non-lowball offers including one person who was even willing to pay more than the asking price. There seemed to be a quite a bit of interest, mainly, I think, because it was the Canadian version. The other FN, if I recall correctly, was a Lithgow produced FN stamped for the Singapore Police Force and there was less interest and it sold somewhat cheaper.

I would pay 1000$ just to hang it on my all as Military memorabilia I think it's worth is being put in a museum for all people to see I know there's a military museum in London that has similar unoperable firearms on display
