Hello folks .... :)

I see a lot of threads posted here with people asking "What's it worth ?".........

A good place to start before asking the question would be a U.S. web site called C&R Buds (click here)http://www.fo.com/cr-buds/.

It hosts Manowar's Firearm Values (click here)

Keep in mind these are U.S. prices and you have to convert for currency, plus there are some types of firearms that have widespread price shifts. This is generally because of different U.S. collector interests and variable supply on opposite sides of the border.

Hope this helps a few folks at least get in the ball park ..... :)

Maybe make this a sticky?

Regards,
Badger

Yup, that's why I wanted to make the caveat about cross border valuations. It's amazing at some of the disparity in pricing on milsurps that have been imported into Canada, but aren't generally available in the U.S. for various reasons. Here's a typical thread exchange on Gunboards about the Vz58, albeit it's a year old, it still makes the point about it. So much for free trade. :D

Vz58 for $850

Are you in Canada?

I don't know of any VZ58's available in the US except for Ohio Ordnance Works VZ2000, and it costs close to $1300.00. If it's in the US, I would grab it in a heartbeat. In had to pay out the nose for mine. But if you are in Canada, this is about the going rate.

Too bad we can't export some of these.... :D

A bit of a hijack in which I will continue to indulge.

From what I've seen, most milsurps are considerably less expensive in Canada than in the US. There are some temporary exceptions such as the raft of Turk Mausers (that no-one seems to want in Canada anyways), and the $79 K31's (with their nice import marks). The US "The Land of the Free", has been subjected to various laws that we weren't such as the Gun Control Act of 1968, that prevented some exports from reaching the US. With that large door closed, the guns ended up in such places as Canada, Australia, etc. Forget Europe - they have gun laws that would make you shudder.

It goes without saying though that since arms presently in military use will never reach the public, i.e. the pool is fixed (shrinking really as they get bubba'd, damaged ,etc.), that failing new laws, everything will increase in value both sides of the border.

Yes milsuprp prices in Canada are a little higher than they are in the US. However the Americans have dirt cheap ammunition compared to us. I'd rather have my choice of affordable ammo. I'm getting too lazy to reload everything.
