Whats it worth

My Father in law wants to sell his shot gun, and didn't know what its worth so I told him I would check it out for him. It's a JC Higgins 12 gauge bolt action that he bought from Sears about 55 years ago. The stock has a few safe kisses, but it has not seen more than 30 or 40 shells through her. So what do ya think?

I don't watch or collect these but unfortunately when I do see them for sale they are not listed for a lot of dollars usually 100-150.

Give me a model number and can tell you who manufactured it. Likely a Stevens or a Mossberg that got branded for J.C. Higgins / Sears. Not a lot of value and usually in a 12 gauge looking at $100.00.
