OK guys. I need your help.

The wife has just OK'd another gun purchase for around $600.00

Whats my best value?

I'm looking at the beretta 92S from lever arms.

The Grand Power K-100, Pietta Peacemaker, Norinco NP-34 from marstar.

I've already got two beretta's and a norinco 1911.

Thank you,

Jeff

CZ 75B or 85, a Hi-Power or a Ruger in .45Long Colt if it were me. The Ruger's are not nearly as tempermental as the SAA clones and give you a few more options if you are reloading. The adjustable sights are a bonus.

Take Care

Bob

The 92s that sell in Leverarms has a round trigger guard, I believe it is a older model that I have read some informations form the web that happened one or two case that the slide blow out. The newly model won't have those problem. I may have wrong but I am sure that Slavex may have better knowledge about all breed of Beretta. As for K100 that sell in Marstar is a good buy and many quite a few gunnutz happy with them. Tanfogilo has a 1911 retail price is under six hundred a I think it is a great gun too. I have a CZ 75B is also around $600 and shoot sweet. A good used Glock 17 or Browning HP will be also aroung that range. It is very headage to think what gun to buy when you have money.

I'd do my shopping at Marstar. Great iron clad guarantee if something goes awry....

Doubt you'd get the same from Lever....

If you're on such a tight budget for firearm, I'd guess that you have a tight budget for ammo.

Cheapest ammo will be 9mm.

Best 9mm you listed is the K100

What ever you do... do a search on Lever Arms before you buy from them.

Seriously - K100 with Ironclad Guarantee... WOT-ME-WORRY?!

I think I'm going for the K100. Can anyone tell me about this firearm. I've not heard anything about it.

OK. I just bought a new gun.

Ruger P345 .45ACP.

It felt so small and light in my hand compared to my 1911. It was love at first sight.

I did some research on the little pistol before I layed my credit card down and everyone seemed to have good things to say.

449.00 @ wholesale sports. Cant wait to pick her up.

I've had my K100 Mark 6 to the rang a couple times now and WOW.. It was shooting a little to the left at first, but I drifted the sights over a little and now it shoots almost perfectly... only problem I'm having is the odd stovepipe jam... don't know if its the gun, the ammo, or me... but overall I absolutely love the look and feel of it.

Thanks for the votes of confidence on the Grand Power K100. User reviews speak for themselves: they are comfy, accurate, ergonomic, European made, and very aggressively priced (often called 'the $1,000.00 class high-tech nine for $595').

Yes, there are other offerings for around $600.00 that are also good buys. As others have mentioned, if you have a completely open mind (no qualifiers such as 'this cal. only,' 'semi/revolver only,' etc.) it's a buyer's market for a 100% new handgun:

- 'old school' wheelguns such as the Pietta 1873 single action;
- 'new old school' wheelguns like some Ruger single actions;
- any flavour of Norinco you'd like (spend the extra $ on mags, holster, ammo, etc.)
- CZ products also have a good reputation and are around $600.00;
- If .22LR is a possibility SIG's new Mosquito looks intriguing;
- Ruger has several semi-autos which seem rugged;

Used stuff I'd consider for around $600.00 that would (usually) be a safe bet:

Note: I'm going to avoid mentioning 12:6 since if you're 'in the club' chances are you already own most/all the standard choices anyhow. Assume everything below's restricted only and is an average version without huge collector value:

- S&W M27 .357 mag or M29 .44 mag ( what? You don't own one yet? :shock: )
- Ruger Security Six, GP100, etc.
- S&W 586, 686, 66, Model 19, etc. (.38 spl = cheap, .357 mag = boom :))
- Browning wartime/commercial GP35 'High Power' (but watch out for fakes!)
- 1911A1 .45 ACP (compare specific used 1911's brand/cond./$ to new Norinco w. warranty though)
- Walther P38;
- Beretta 92, Glock 1x/2x ( watch EE, sometimes these sell around $600 )

That about sums it up for the major types of new and used pistols that are highly/usually recommended and available for around six bills. This is not to say "there aren't other equally good deals out there." These are only the main ones.

As usual, always check out the seller thoroughly before you buy! Purchasing from a reputable EE seller or Canadian dealer is priceless especially after you hear a couple stories along the lines of "I got mine $50 cheaper ... but <item> broke or <condition> was misrepresented and I was SOL with the seller." Just like buying parcel insurance and 'signature required' a little extra is worth a LOT of peace of mind.

Hope this helps,

- Peter
