Bought it a few moons ago.

All matching Breda FKF (crown) [Danish]M1.
Shoots well.
Wood is on par for a 50's milsurp. I even have an FKF crown bayonet too.

And it shoots not bad either.

So in today's market, what's the going price?

Looks pretty well used. If the stock is original it will have SILE stamped under the buttplate. Maybe $800-$900 in that shape.

$1500? #### you can build one for way less then that.... should sell my pair of VG Danes if that's what people are forking out for beater M1's...$2000 each!

You can build a parts gun for around 1000 with current component prices. An all numbers matching gun tends to fetch a little more.

I guarantee that one, and any of the "all matching" claims for M1's are not truly all original.

Current prices for a good quality parts set with a new barrel, fully parkerized parts and a new stock set is running $1400-$1500 nowadays, and they don't come any cheaper, esp when importing components from the US. A rifle assembled with these parts would approximate the condition of an arsenal rebuild, assuming a competent builder.

For a used rifle, other than a collector piece, value would be determined by condition, esp the barrel/bore, wood, and metal finish, so probably $1000-$1200. Value ultimately depends on what someone will pay for the piece.

It seems that 1100 is the bottom right now as that is build cost. I actually prefer a used looking M1. The shiny "built" guns don't appeal to me much. To me......maybe a 1200-1300$ gun??

I, for one, would really appreciate knowing where folks are getting a quality Garand parts set nowadays for $1000 nowadays. This would mean fully serviceable parts with intact parkerizing, new wood and a new barrel. After that there are additional costs for tooling and gauges, as well as gunsmithing, if a person isn't set up to do a barrel installation.

Garands are selling good these days. You will likely be able to get $1200 in a short time. Purple has nailed the problem with claiming a $1000 build.

About 19 years ago or less at the Calgary Gun Show they had $149 SKS rifles and Tables full of $99 Garands that had mismatched wood.
If it wasn't for Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan, you would be paying a lot less today! Glad I bought in when they were Dirt Cheap!

I don't know about that one....

New Criterion barrel is $269
Receiver is $50
Stock set $100
Bolt $90
Trigger group $100
Gas Cylinder $60
Op Rod $150
Those are retail, you could probably do better on some of those prices.
Scrounge up the rest of the small parts and a Nork M14 rear sight for under $100....
Barrel install and finish ream could be done for some beers....and you have an M1 for under $1000.

You would be hard pressed to find all the parts ( in spec and serviceable) for less than $1200.00 and then have them put together properly. If you go for quality parts expect to pay considerably more.

I used to buy them by the crate for 400 Canadian and export them to the USA selling them for 450 USD, we had a 70 something cent loonie and everyday I was filling export paperwork with Ottawa and my partner was filling import papers out in Pennsylvania........the days of easy money are long gone, somewhere I have a letter telling me to cease and desist from some whack job of the bush administration...........A3-03's are hard to find up here due to the numbers of them that I sent to camp david.............oh to turn the clock back........
