Whats price for an older Marlin 39a

Marlin 39 22 lever action .I dont know if its an (A) or an (a) or if it has a gold trigger
I just know its a Marlin model 39 and older (1970's)and in nice shape.
I want to pay fair price for it as it belongs to a friend
am going to see him this afternoon

A new one is over $600.
An older 39A or M is a far better rifle.
If he is a friend and asks $600 and it looks "used but not abused" then take it.
Used it is around $500
Abused . . . 350 - 400.
