What's the best ammo for a Rhineland 22?

Your best bet would be to get a bunch of differnt kinds of .22lr ammuniton and try out each one. Each gun shoots different - even the same brand/model of gun has different preferences for ammunition. Some rounds to try would be: Federal champion, Winchester powerpoints (if you can find them), CCI blazer, Federal gold metal, and Lapua superclub.

You menioned winchester stuff doesn't work to good. Have you just tried one type (i.e Winchester wildcat) or have you tried all of winchesters line up (T22, powerpoints, X-pert, etc?)

In many cases I find that for example, Federal bulk ammuniton might shoot terribly but as soon as I get Federal gold metal it will put it all in a ragged hole.

Try as many rounds as possibe - its the only way you will be able to find what ammo your gun prefers :)

The 525 round copper plated Federal bulk packs work fine. The Classic or Gameshoc 40 gr copper clad work even better.

When I have a minute, I'll wander downstairs for the product numbers.

I have 3 R22's....and none of them like the same stuff.

One loves the Winchester Dyna-Points, while the other two are only so-so with it. One loves..LOVES CCi velocitors, buy one wont print better than 2.5" at 50 with them. The third eats up mini-mags like crazy....and with this gun I get match accuracy shooting them. (thats the PSG clone)

You reaaly need to buy as many different brands as you can, then start there....there is no easy answer I'm afraid.
