whats the best bore sight system to get?

I originally purchased a MIJ Bushnell bore sighter to get me on the paper at 25 yards. It works very well. When Leupold put out their magnetic bore sighter a few years ago I thought that it might be handy for referencing/checking the scope when I was travelling. I found that it worked great for this application as well as bore sighting. They both work very well for my applications and I am pretty certain that either could be purchased, used, for under $50.

A bag a target 100 or more yds and yer eyeball. If you have a bolt just take it out and look through the barrel. Works better than a boresighter.

I think I might buy one of the Bushnell laser ones that are for sale for $34-38 at WWS or SIR.

I agree with ICQ BUT:
You dont't need to look at a 100 yd target with the bolt out, you look at a target that represents the first pass of the bullet through the line of sight. Usually about 25 yds. Works like a charm.

I have a bushnell boresighter that I have used for well over 20 years.I bore sight the scope and I am always on the paper at 100 yards with the first shot, almost always within a few inches of the bullseye.Over the years it has more than paid for itself in ammunition saved.

I was pretty impressed with the leupold magnetic ones.Seems to work as good or better than the arbour ones. How they work is beyond me but they do.

Yep, I used this model to zero a new scope recently and same as "stubblejumper", the first shot landed within inches of bulls eye at 100M. I didn't even try at 25 yds, didn't know I was supposed to  .

I've got a Bushnell boresighter with the three adjustable spuds. Quick & easy. On the paper every time & a couple minor scope adjustments from there & you're in business. ;)

Not to pricy....

Hi,

I use my super laser from...dollar store.

1. Remove the bolt on your rifle

2. Hold the button to ''on'' from laser with a small tie wrap

3. Borrow some clay to the childrens

4. I center my 1$ laser in clay from behind the bolt thru the barrel. This is the main operation. Just aim the wall 25 feets in front of you. Now for the funny part: Wait for darkness and aim at trees (or whatever you want) at 200 and 300 yards. Just center your crosshair to the red dot.

PS: If you want to keep all your firearms home, don't let the neighbor see you when you aim outside.

At range, i Never have to test my rifles from 25yds. I go directly to 100yds and have 2 or 3 inches correction only. sometimes even less.

The same thing cannot be said about reputable boresighters.

Seriously,

Do not spend too much money on a boresighter, except if you mount 3 or 4 scopes a week. Before my cheapo laser technique, i was using the ''see thru barrel'' method with a certain success.
