What's the closest thing to a CZ83 and be just restricted?

The cz83 is a clone or near clone of a makarov pistol. It just so happens the interammo (a site sponsor link at the top) sells a restricted makarov.

Aside from ammo it fires and being a blowback action, CZ83 is different gun than Makarov. The only way to make it restricted is to find a longer barrel for it. Although the Makarov's proven reliabilty is the way to go, and its available right now at the dealers.

Whats the ammo like to get- or just regular 9mm

Possible that the 380 acp or 9mm short is easier to get than 9x18. They don't take luger ammo.

My bad I was under the impression that the cz83 was a mak variant. Not the first time I was wrong, sure won't be the last

They are similar. Its like comparing ak47 and VZ58 similar but different. Given the choice we have now I'd go with Mak.

I'm interested in similar sized handguns. Not particularly the cz83 although I do like their rifles.
