What's the finish on this CZ-75b?...or is the grey looking finish a photoshop thing?
 
It is a ####ty finish and wears off fast. But under that crappy finish is one of the best handguns out there. So what are you waiting for join the CZ club;)
 
I was thinking polycoat at first but that's non-reflective--but look at the frame behind the safety. That almost makes it looks relective--maybe this is one of the glossy blue finished ones? What's the source of the pic?

No, it's just the way the light is falling on it. It's definetely polycoat.
 
I used standard paint on a slight scratch and it's hard to see it anymore.

I find the polycoat quite nice.

Absolutely correct. There is a great big light source behind the gun. The gun acts like a mirror. What you are seeing is a very large specular highlight. The following picture is another example. The gun is as black as the grips. But because the grips reflect the light in a different direction (not towards the camera) they appear black. The surface of the gun (slide and flat part of the frame that is in the same plane) is reflecting the light into the lens and the gun is lighter because of it.

Yeah, I'm going to have to vote polycoat now...the darker area that I thought was a reflection behhind the safety is actually just part of the frame that's in shadow...I should've dug my SP01 out of the safe before posting.

The guys on czshooters.com mentioned that Birchwood Casey makes a flat black touch-up pen that's nearly a perfect match (apparently) for the polycoat. I don't know where it would be available in Canada, though.
