What's the fun in tactical / security shotguns?

Aside from looking cool and being an asset during a fallout, what's the fun in short barrel shotguns (20 inches or less)? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm afraid I would quickly get bored of shooting it.

Why do I own more than two guns? I only got two hands. Because you can.

Apparently many fondlers do bore quickly with them as the EE is full of them on a daily basis. Most are like new.

You'd be far better to just buy a reg 870 and get a short bbl to switch on if needed.
