What's the longest rifle you have

I am planning to build a new gun locker. My plan is to have the back hold firearms horizontally. Just wondering how wide to go and was just wondering how long your longest rifle is. I know some long range rigs can be a little long.

50" inside should do it... 52"-54" will give you some wiggle room.

If you use shotguns an 870 with a 30" barrel is a tad over 50" in length. So as hoyt already mentioned 52-54 will be plenty.

Some muzzle loaders get quite long.

My Lyman Great Plains rifle is my longest at around 50 inches, my A300 Beretta with 30 inch barrel isn't far behind.

If I remember correctly 2 of my muzzleloaders are around 62-64 inches.
It's the shorties that mess me up. Henry Golden Boy and SR22 fall through the racks because they don't reach the top rests.

My 71/84 mauser is 53" long and i have a few lee enfield/metfords that are 50" long

Remington KS Mountain rifle .300wm, 44 1/2" OAL, 24" barrel.

I have no use for rifles with longer barrels than that. I can see it for certain types of competition rigs or a 50 BMG, but I prefer shorter rifles/barrels if I can get away with it.

336 30-30 20inch barrel under 40inchs overall length is my longest one. 300wsm is only 38" I think. Have never needed anything bigger.
