Can you use them in an ar-15 style rifle (.223)? You know how Canadian law it, I have read a bunch and have drawn my own conclusions, however, I was wondering where everyone else stands?

The real deal is that it's a pistol mag. It's not different then the JR carbine that uses 10 round glock pistol mags.
Using the LAR15 mags in an AR15 is 100% legal.
Questar made the effort to post the full details on their website.

Yup, their is a letter from the RCMP on the Questar website, so I tend to draw the same conclusion as the RCMP did.

The part that confuses me the most is that a rifle requires a 5rd mag and you are in fact using a 10rd mag. even though the 10rd mag is legal for what it was intended for Im just not sold on "being allowed" to use it in something it so happens to fit. I mean if you were approached at a club by an RCMP or FO, could you get the gears for playing in the grey area. After all when it is read, it is understood how we interpret it no? Just want to keep things clean, don't want to argue, have nothing against these mags, in fact wanna pick up a 5 pack. Please correct me it I am misunderstanding something or got it right wrong.

The law pertains to the magazine, not to the rifle. The magazine designed for a semi automatic rifle is limited to 5 rounds of the ammunition it was designed for. There is nothing that says you cannot use a pistol magazine inside a rifle. Since pistol magazines are limited to 10 and nothing says you cannot insert it into a semi-automatic rifle, this is where hundreds of LAR-15s that were designed for a pistol are happily finding their way into use in rifles that can accept them. I've personally never seen a LAR-15 pistol.

In our tradition of law, everything that is not expressly forbidden is permitted. It couldn't be the other way around otherwise we would run out of paper for the amount of laws that would have to be made to allow everything.

The 50 bw has me a bit concerned .. When you look at the RCMP exceptions it lists handgun cartridges into handgun mags but doesn't say anything about rifles... Maybe that's just thinking that the government is out to screw me

Why would it be any different? They simply used 9mm in a .40S&W magazine as an example. 6.8SPC in a 7.62x39 magazine or 300BLK in a 5.56mm magazine are two others.
