What's the technical term for trigger pull weight

Silly question of the day:

It sounds something like "tervical".....?

This is the weight required to pull a trigger so that you acheive firearm discharge.

(Wife is typing a transcript and can't hear the word properly)

tervical = trigger pull? Say them both out loud quickly.

"Trigger pull" is defined in the Association of Firearm & Toolmark Examiners (AFTE) Glossary as:

"the amount of force which must be applied to the trigger of a firearm to cause sear release."

When he passed away, I inherited a Ruger P85 Mk2 with the AFTE logo stamped on the left side of the slide. I'm having some work done it to smooth out the trigger and lessen the pull weight, plus having new rear sights put on. I'll post some pics when I get it back.
