*** Whats the ultimate slug gun ? *** Looking for a new gun plz help

There really isn't an ultimate anything. However, a scoped, rifled barrel, Rem 870, would be hard to beat with the right ammo. Even a smooth bore with the right ammo can be scary accurate at 100 yards.
Single shot's tend to be low end, full choked, smooth bores. Or very, very expensive skeet and trap guns. Doubles tend not to have suitable chokes for slugs. Not easy to put changeable chokes on 'em either.

I have a 870 super slug deer gun with a 23" fully rifled barrel and canteliever scope rail. If I could turn back time and had the money I would have went with a Benelli autoloader like the Super Black EagleII. You specify single shot and double barrel so I guess my suggestion is somewhat useless.

Best slug gun in my opinion would be the very soft recoiling:runaway: Cooey model 84, 12 gauge with the choke opened up to modified. I'm in the slow process of making myself a "Deluxe Custom Cooey SlugHunter". Installing Remington's rifle sights, a grind to fit recoil pad, getting the stocks checkered, some custom metal work...etc..

Gonna be great when it's finished..

i shot a mossy 535 combo the slugbarrl has the scope rail and for the money she canot be beat .if i had to buy a nother slug gun i would look at the new ithica 37 pump slug gun comes in three inch now and has a soild barrel to recever hook up great gun DUTCH

remington 870 express magnum with knoxx recoil reducing stock. extra rounds, low kick........... sounds nice dont it- its my zombie gun.

Doubles don't make particularly good slug guns because of barrel regulation issues. It's difficult to get the two slugs hitting to the some point of impact. They are light and handy however.

The ultimate slug gun if it were still produced would be the Browning A-Bolt slug gun. I shot one years ago and it was the most accurate slug gun I've fired.

In currently produced guns I'd say the nod would go the the Benelli SBE slug gun.

+1!!! what he said !
But, there is a Browning Silver with a slug barrel and cantilever scope device on the EE section though.
dont know why I am pimpin his advert though considering he ran off at the mouth one time after offered advice he was asking for...silly boy.
Get what fits you and you can afford, cause any gun will do its job if you do yours.

#### Metcalf just did an article on the new savage 220f and it sounds like the ultimate slug gun for sure, i'm shopping myself for a 20 gauge and i'm trying to find the 220f in canada yet (not to be confused with any previous generation one) and the H&R ultra series....which apparently shoot very accurate for the money so maybe i'll end up with both....if i can find any????

the new 220f from savage with detach 2 shot mag and regular rifle build like their centerfire etc. was shooting almost everything sub moa and he was boasting honest 200 yrd deer rifle and he's hunted slugs for 30 yrs and this was by far the biggest thing in slugger history to come down the pipes....so try and find the article, feels and handles like a regular rifle, sub 4" groups at 200 yrds and felt like a .260 rem for recoil, stronger than modern 45-70.....all sounded pretty dang impressive to me
