Just wondering what the value of this set up would be?
Rem 700 IN 308
24" heavy bull barrel
Jewelled bolt
Harris bipod
Monte Carlo stock
Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x10

There are a few nicks on the scope and one or two on the rifle.

Are you the buyer or the seller?
Is that a real Leupold?
Not being a wise azz, but there are some knockoffs out there and that plays a part in the valuation.
Not more that $1200.00 if all the real stuff and not The P of C stuff.
Leupold carries lifetime warranty and that retains lots of value should anything go wrong with it.
Just my .o5 worth of advice and of course your results may vary.

This was one of those impulse buys now I have two precision rifles. One has to go. I don't want to lose any money on it.

I agree with Rob. $1200 if all genuine and that may be a bit high.
The Leupy is probably around $300-350?
In comparison, I picked up a very similar set up as that except mine had a Falcon FFP scope, Bell and Carlson stock, case, Timney trigger, tactical bolt knob and Harris bipod in .308 for $1200 also.
It now wears a MDT HS3 stock and a Sightron II scope!

I called Leupold and the scope is a real Leupold. Very clear and bright.

I'll post it on the EE later.

Thanks, I appreciate the help.

They said it's a 1989 design. The Leupold guy said it was the same quality as the new 2010 mark 3( I believe he said mark 3). He said it should be worth $250-$300 in the states used. Scopes aren't my area of expertise.

$300 in US Dollars is closer to $400 Canadian.
Rings and Bases $50.00 conservative.
Harris Bi-pod $65.00
And the Rifle $600.00 + depending on who wants one and how much they wanna spend.
Then there is the Houge stock for $300ish.
Someone is getting a good deal when you search the EE for actions or actioned barrels with no stock or bottom metal.
If'n I was into Moose snippin this would be a starting platform.
Can not go wrong with a Leupold and Remington combo.
Tight Groups and Happy Hunting.

That Leupold scope is the older 3.5 - 10 X 40mm Tactical model. The discontinued them years ago. There was also a 4.5 - 14 X 40mm Tactical model. I have owned both these models and they are decent scopes. There was no gold ring around the objective lens on the Tactical models.

I bought the 3.5 - 10 X 40mm Tactical used for $350.00 Cdn. back in the late 1990s.IIRC, they were around $700 - $800 new at the time.

Due to the blued action and barrel, looks like an older Varmint model in an aftermarket stock.

Personally I wouldn't pay more then $700 for the rifle/scope combo.
