Was at the range today with my kids, on a walk to change up targets my son found this in the grass. The case is stamped 9mm IVI and the plastic thing is roll crimped into the neck and not coming out!! Thanks

Its a "Simunition". Training round. Plastic bullet. The remaining plastic piece acts as a piston to cycle the action of the training gun.

Last CANSEC trade show, I was late meeting my boss' boss and his replacement because I was firing an MP5 full auto with Simunition. (I confessed what I was doing and was foregiven.) The ammo is a fragile slow speed bullet that has enough oomph to function the unaltered firearm and still smack a target semi-accurately.

They shoot a small either paint or chalk marker plastic bullet which looks very much like a medicine capsule with a coloured substance in it.
