I'm thinking of selling off a few things to buy a new rifle, I hope it's okay to post this here. I'm not sure if I will sell it, just something I have been thinking about.

Since I have not sold a rifle before (I only buy them!) I'm not sure what a resonable price would be to ask so if you can give me an idea that would be great. I don't want to be an EE AHOLE asking more that it worth by a mile!

Rifle has sporter weight barrel and is in overall very good condition. Has seen maybe 1000 rounds of 22lr in its life and I bought it new about 1 year ago. It comes with a factory 10 round mag (works great) and a Remington 30 rounder (works not so great). Will need a few filler screws on top if the holes bug you from where I removed the Irons, which also come with it.

Stock is a black Boyd’s TactiCool and changes the rifle completely. If you have not shouldered one you should! Has small washers under the action screws since the proper plastic shims are sold out everywhere (they are only $10 if you can find them) you don’t see the washers and they do the job just fine. I will include the factory stock for your trips into the bush. Stock has one tiny nick about 1/4”x1/16” by the action, it’s not a nick in the wood but the paint chipped in that area the same size.

VQ hammer and extractor are installed and makes the trigger and action work great.

Scope is the 3-12x50 NCStar Euro type with the illuminated reticle, has only seen about 100 rounds of 22lr. Rings are 3/8” dovetail to 30mm ring.

Bipod is a shooters ridge 9-13” and has no marks on it.

My guess would be a Remington 597??
Ryan...figure out what you need to get out of the rifle (not what you have into it) and start there.
Maybe leave your post open to a set price plus BRO (BEST reasonable offer)
Also...add to your listing if you are open to trades or not.
Good luck with the sale!

I hate to say it but I reckon $350-400 shipped. I know you have a lot more into the rifle. Hell, I bought a 597 that came with a case and a ####ty 3x9 Bushnell for $500 plus tax when I didn't know any better. What a dumby! I don't shop there anymore.

I think the low resale value for the 597 is due to its issues, I know it can be an awesome gun once you tweak it proper. How is the scope anyhow?

Okay thanks guys, close to what I thought at 450, but then again it's my money I'm losing! and it is soooo nice.

tommy, not sure about your 597 but I've had zero issues with mine. What issues have you had? maybe i'm lucky?

Jam, FTF, etc, and finally the damn thing has a dint in the chamber from the firing pin striking the chamber in the store. I think that's a huge part of it misbehaving. I have the VQ upgrades. Overall not pleased. Accurate though. Wish I could buy yours bud.

Tommy, did ou check out rim fire central's 597 section? Lots of good info on there regarding setup. Biggest thing for me was how tight the set screws are on the guide rods. Mine came tight as they all do, but since they are retained by the stock just run them finger tight, runs like a clock.

Well it's on EE now, going to hope for the best.
