What's up with the florescent green on Under Armour hunting clothing?

So I'm just getting back into hunting, so far striking out with deer but having a blast being back in the woods. I'm just using old paintball and military camo I have lying around but a buddy of mine has offered me his under armour gear for dirt cheap. He's put on a few pounds so it doesn't fit him anymore. Anyways, I don't mind under armour, other than being overly priced, but I'm a bit leery of the lime green trimmings on this gear. What's up with the florescent colouring? Does that not defeat the purpose of the rest of the camo? I know when wearing orange it's obviously a moot point but when in the blind or in the tree stand all decked out in head to toe camo then why add this green? Is this a real issue or am I just making a mountain out of a mole hill? On a side note, florescent green? Really? What were they thinking?

They are thinking dual use: wear it in the field to show off your new duds; and, wear it around town as a stylish way to say "I am hardcore". Frankly, the all camo all the time is not for me. Function over appearance all day long. I like that all the old guys in hunting pics are typically wearing red check wool and blue jeans.
 
Camo is overrated any way...animals will pick up on scent or movement 10x quicker then colors on your body. Ive also found if you skyline and they see human shape they are gone.....green..pink..orange really has no effect unless your are after turkeys or waterfowl. Basically its a marketing thing..plain and simple.

Lol, it's outerwear. But I did get a good chuckle at that...until the visual of my buddy came in. Thanks for that!

I'll see how cheap he'll go, I have no desire to wear this stuff outside of hunting, not that florescent green would entice me to do so....I avoided arctic cat growing up for that exact reason!

So basically not an issue unless using it for bird. Thanks guys!
 
I have the Under Armour with the green trim you're talking about. I don't wear it around town..... And I didn't buy it because of the flashy/marketing BS. It's really comfortable, and I bought it on the 50% off rack at WSS. I've gotten 3 solid years and quite a few miles out of it so far, I would buy it again.

Yep. Personally, olive drab, dull greys, muted browns is mostly what wear and I fill the freezer every fall. Some guys I know still wear the plaid jackets and jeans. They fill their freezers too.

I don't hate camo or anything, and I have one pair of warm camo hunting pants for late season, but I sure as hell know I don't need camo.

I wouldn't let some neon green trim stop me from getting a good deal on some good clothing (but is it?).

Neither blaze orange or that lime green will spook a deer....until it see's you move and/or smells you. You're definitely overthinking this.

I'm the same. bought the gunpowder jacket and pants when they first came out in the U.S. when our dollar was at par and found them some of the most comfortable and warm clothing I've worn for hunting that I bought some of the base layers as well and don't regret it one bit. i don't wear it around town at all, it sits in a rubber container in my bedroom and put it on as i head out the door to a treestand or blind.
the green trim is only on there scent control line. and i won't get into a debate with everybody about the "does scent control or carbon clothing work or not" because i really don't care if it does or not. i also don't care if someone thinks I'm not a hardcore hunter because i wear it. i fill our freezer every year and i have harvested what i consider trophies to me........... LOL
I've had this clothing for a few years now and would definitely buy it again.
